BIO 12thHour is the fastest growing rock band in the Southeast right now. Based out of Montgomery, Alabama, this 4-piece high-energy rock band shows promise, so much that the Montgomery Advertiser recently named them one of Montgomery's "Most Promising Acts". They bring a unique playing style to their instruments to create a distinct sound that has appeal to all who listen, young or old, black or white, male or female. 12thHour pours so much energy and emotion into their live performances, that most audiences are left staring with their jaw on the floor.
Their ability to put on an exceptional live show has given them the opportunity to share the stage with such bands such as TRUSTcompany (Geffen), Chris Carrabba (of Dashboard Confessional), TwoThirtyEight (Tooth and Nail), Further Seems Forever (Tooth and Nail) and the Huntingtons, just to name a few. In addition to this the band has played in all of the states surrounding its hometown in Alabama. Since its birth in 1997, 12thHour has played 100's of shows all over the Southeast, and they're just getting started. The future is looking bright.
12thHour has released two independent albums. The first, a self-produced seven song EP that quickly sold out (1,000 copies pressed), and the second, their new full length "Five Months Late" released by the indie-label Wicked City Records. Recorded by David Campbell (Atmosphere Recording) and mixed & mastered by Rodney Mills (Pearl Jam, STP, REM, Lynyrd Skynyrd), this newly released album is an example of the creative direction in which the group is headed. Weaving together strands of hard rock, grunge, and punk, 12thHour are creating a new rash of compositional arrangements that are extremely pop-flavored, yet difficult to label as any particular style. Jason Snellgrove is responsible for the majority of the musical writings/arrangements for the group. His unique songwriting style is as edgy and overdriven as his guitar work. The lyrics and vocal melodies are written by Josh Carples and are all inspired real life experiences and emotions. This unique alliance is backed by a solid rhythm section composed of Nina Pena on bass and Sam Andrews on drums.
