With thousands of fans nationwide and 70,000 albums sold, GB Leighton has worked steadily to build their career as a band and write great music that connects with their loyal fans. GB Leighton is the product of the band's front man, Brian Leighton.
The band's notable discography started in 1994, with the release of Brian Leighton's first CD, One Time… One Life. Since then, he has gone on to release eight successful CDs, including the 2001 CD It's All Good, a 12-song disc representing GB Leighton's honest, soulful, rock 'n' roll style. With hits such as "Most Important Night," "Fly My Plane," and "Country Road," the style of It's All Good has been compared to the likes of John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen. His next album, This Life, on Liquid 8 Records marked a new path in GB Leighton's career, with high-energy original songs and a rousing new version of the hit song "Come and Get Your Love." Leighton collaborated with Bobby Z on this production.
His 2006 release, Live at the Minnesota Music Café on Moonsong Records, features 12 live songs and comes as a companion to a double-disc live DVD of the same performance at the Minnesota Music Café. With this release, Brian's goal of recording an official live album finally became a reality. "This is so much better than the bootleg recordings of our shows which have been circulating amongst fans for years," he added. "People have been asking me for a long time about something like this."
GB Leighton's live shows have been a staple in their musical career, and have built them an impressive fan base in the Midwest. The band plays weekly in Minneapolis, and have consistently toured the Midwest for 10 years, playing over 200 live gigs a year. Separately, Brian has lent solo support to national and international tours with The BoDeans, Joe Cocker, Boz Skaggs, Chuck Berry and Jonny Lang.
After selling over 70,000 CDs without major label support or a management company, GB Leighton caught the eye of management firm Murphy to Manteo, and signed with them in 2005. Joining with MTM proved to be beneficial for the band, as Rusty Harmon of MTM arranged writi
