Singer -songwriter KIRK HYDE has just released his new full length C.D. entitled CATBIRD BLUES on his own TUPELO MOON RECORDS label. Because of an unfortunate "Name Conflict" issue that arose in 2005 this project is being marketed under the name CLYDE COTTON BAND. This C.D. is comprised of about 80 percent original material. As is the case with most musicians Kirk has compiled a long list of "cover" songs that make up his repertoire list,most notably songs by writers such as J.J. Cale ,Jimmy Reed,Willie Dixon,Jagger and Richards , Dylan and many other Blues,Rock,Folk and Blues-Rock songwriters.
CATBIRD BLUES is the first full-length C.D. release from CLYDE COTTON BAND .Along with the seven original songs on this recording there are two "cover" songs that were recorded for inclusion on this project.The first is entitled I'm A' LOVE YOU a Jimmy Reed composition that first appeared on his 1974 release JIMMY REED AT CARNEGIE HALL and secondly , a J.J.Cale song that illustrates what could happen if "one" embraces that green-eyed demon,jealousy. J. J. Cale's RIVER RUNS DEEP first appeared on his classic 1972 release entitled NATURALLY.
