He lived on Second Street along with Bob Marley, Bunny Wailers and Delroy Wilson. They grew up together along with many others singers; people like Peter Tosh, Joe Higgs, Alton Ellis, Winston "pipe" Matthews and Lloyd "bread" McDonald of the Wailing Soul. They would sing because music brought peace to their soul. At an early age, Colin was an original member of the singing group, the "School Boys." They recorded many songs on the Prince Buster Label; they also recorded a few songs for Coxon Downbeat. Colin went to live in America in the late sixties and in the seventies he had decided to start a singing career once again. In nineteen seventy five he wrote a song "Festival Greetings" that came second in the New York Reggae Festival. He has done many recordings and is constantly trying to be heard. Well, I happen to be a fan of his music and I will say this without any apology, not since Bob Marley have I heard a songwriter from Jamaica with such insight; just listen to songs like Downsizing, World Terrorism, Loving You, Freedom, Marching and Singing, Forrest Gump, and his latest recording "I Cried" then you will see that he is another real deal from Trench Town, Kingston Jamaica.
