Today though Ed's style is a mix of folk, blues, jazz and experimental music. His compositions could easily be filed under thinking man's music. Intelligent song crafting is his strongest quality. Like modern day folk artists, he covers issues of faith, social justice, love lost & love found as well as songs dealing with struggles of life. His music is moody and intelligent whose lyrical depth flows beneath the surface of simplistic rhetoric.

He is the founding member and songwriter for the band LAB. As a solo artist ED has several recorded projects. The latest CD is called, "D.I.A.L. Business". ED recently released an all instrumental jazz CD called, "The ED Englerth Jazz Quartet."
