Hargo hasn’t won these Grammy Winners over with flash & gimmicks but in beautiful, emotional songwriting. It all seems natural to Hargo cause he was seemingly born with the ability to inspire people with his music. His song “Giving”, which he original composed for a choir at age 8, went on to be official theme song for the 1999 South Africa Peace Conference in 1999 and became a featured track on the 3HO (Healthy Happy Holy Organization) 30th Anniversary CD.
In 2000, Hargo opened for Seal playing two original songs and an encore before a captivated audience of seven thousand people at a festival in New Mexico. Backstage before the performance, Seal had Hargo play his songs for him. Seal was so impressed that he asked for some input on a few songs that would later be released on his Grammy-nominated CD Seal IV. Hargo was overwhelmed with the show of support and appreciation from the audience, and knew then that it was time to make his first album.
Fueled by industry raves, Hargo wrote many songs, over twenty, and finally compiled his best efforts into an album entitled Messages, released in 2002. Released under his given spiritual name Hargobind Hari Khalsa, the album is eight tracks of beautiful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, the two elements of his signature style that has been compared to that of Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Cat Stevens and Sarah McLachlan, to name a few. He’s also produced several spiritual albums for Tenth Gate Music.
His songs clearly have an immediate impact and resonate with audiences. At a recent Los Angeles performance, first time listeners were visibly moved to tears by his stirring performance of his song “One Love.”
So while other performers suffer their growing pains with their first releases, Hargo, just now 20, is stepping up with his rock n’ roll debut In Your Eyes. Just as Beck did over 10 years ago, Hargo is emerging on the scene as a veteran producer and songwriter with a legion of famous fans.
Backed by a talented full band of handpicked musicians, the spark that started his musical career has turned into a fire with the release of his lates
