Hayley Jensen is a singer/songwriter, originating from Canberra now based in Sydney, Australia, who has just finished independently recording her debut album ‘Note to Self’ and, single-handedly released her first EP single ‘Alive’. Her music has lyrical substance, is instrumentally engaging, and anyone who has experienced her live performances will testify that she’s memorable and magnetic on stage.
Hayley has grown from strength to strength to get to where she is today. For as long as she can remember all Hayley ever wanted to be was a singer. From an early age she began playing songs on her keyboard, and naturally singing harmonies along with the radio. This incredible gift helped her win lead roles in school productions and top prizes at local talent quests.
While studying a double degree at University, Hayley attended the ANU School of Music on a scholarship program to study Jazz, where she formed an acoustic trio and began performing original compositions at gigs, and to thousands at local sporting grand finals.
It was in 2004, through sheer determination, depth of character, humility and undeniable talent, Hayley placed 4th in the nationwide talent search & television show, Australian Idol.
This was an incredible platform to kick-start Hayley’s musical career, and many within the industry encouraged her to take advantage of this national exposure by quickly releasing a CD. However, she insisted on taking her time to grow as a songwriter and performer. Instead of rushing into a recording studio she chose to spend the following two years song writing and developing further as an artist.
On the roster of the Harbour Booking Agency, Hayley has performed alongside Internationally acclaimed artists such as: Killing Heidi, The Whitlams and Kasey Chambers (to name a few) at the: Canberra Day Celebrations, The Chief Minister's Command Performance, Concert In The Vineyard, The Future's Festival 2005, The Melbourne Cup Carnival (Sydney), NSW Sports Federation Awards, numerous football Grand Finals, and was ‘The Voice’ of the 2006 Golden Slipper Racing Carnival.
Hayley often takes time out to support charities such as the RSPCA, Starlight Foundation & Camp Quality.
