"Junkyardcafe" was recorded at TNT Productions in Louisville, KY by Phillil Stirgwolt, and mixed by Grammy nominated engineer Tim Stroh at Sante Fe, NM's Stepbridge Studios.
"Jakeleg" is a prohibition-era term that refers to paralysis of the leg resulting from consuming lead-tainted moonshine (frequently distilled in old car radiators).
The Critics almost Rave for "Junkyardcafe":
"In yet another example of how much diverse talent exists here. . .Jakeleg's second release. . .strolls in with a rootsy pop sound that recalls early REM, dB's and Paul Collins' Beat. The tone of this album is all over the map. . .But clearly there is a vision here, and Jakeleg fulfills it admirably."
Kevin Gibson, Louisville Eccentric Observer, www.leoweekly.com
"A giant leap forward for the band...lush guitars, layered voices, the attention to detail that befits the complexity of the new songs. 'Junkyardcafe' has an eclectic variety of sounds only hinted at in 'Pour me to Bed'..."
Bryan Hurst, Louisville Eccentric Observer
"Junkyardcafe [is] more of what the band's fans have come to expect--amiable, unpretentious tavern rock 'n' roll that occasionally sneaks up and clips you with a dark confession or drunken insight."
Jeffrey Lee Puckett, The Courier Journal
