A Fulbright scholar in music, John Butler is an experienced guitarist and composer proclaimed a "Deft Jazz Guitarist" by Downbeat Magazine. Having lived in New York, Amsterdam and Peru for many years, John has performed throughout North America, Europe and Peru, where he recieved a Fulbright Grant in 1991 to study Afro Peruvian music. John is currently based in Portland, Oregon, raising his family, from where he continues to perform nationally and internationally. JB has performed with Jack McDuff, Wilbur Little, Jim Pepper, Beaver Harris, Mark Feldman, Gene Jackson, Leroy Vinegar, and is currently a member of Essiet Essiet's band "IBO" which includes drummer Jeff "Tain" Watts.
Essiet Essiet is one of the most sought after bass players of the moment. He has performed and recorded with Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard, Cedar Walton, Bobby Hutcherson, Benny Golson, Kenny Barron, Mulgrew Miller, Al Foster, Bobby Watson, Sam Rivers, George Adams, Abdullah Ibrahim, Kevin Mahogany, Ralph Peterson, Geri Allen, Louis Hayes and the Blue Note All Stars. His career started quite young when he joined the Don Moye quartet. He also directs his own band IBO (Nigerian/Jazz) of which John Butler is a member.
Dale Barlow is considered the top saxophonist from his native Australia, where he appears regularly on television and enjoys excellent media attention.
