Worship is far more than a song ...quot; it’s a lifestyle. A life of worship allows others to see Jesus in all that you do ...quot; in your work, in your play, in your words, in your songs, in your life. This passion and message is at the heart of Jon Bauer, a worship leader and recording artist from Alberta, Canada.
This Elementary School Teacher by day/Recording Artist by night/and Worship Pastor by weekend experiences the same busy reality that we all live. In the mountain-top times of leading worship to the more mundane actions (like marking student exams!), Jon strives to present these real-life moments as acts of worship unto the Lord. These life experiences are where Jon has received inspiration for the songs on his debut CD entitled Life of Worship which was released in December 2004. The album was recently nominated for Best Praise and Worship Album of 2005 while Jon was also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year at the 27th CGMA ... Covenant Awards.
Life of Worship brings a variety of songs ...quot; some that have been birthed out of personal/corporate prayer and worship times while others have come out of personal responses through everyday encounters with God and His people; still others have come out while singing with his students in the classroom. No matter where these songs have originated, Jon’s prayer is that you would connect with God.
One of Jon’s debut singles entitled Life of Worship inspired by the Psalms captures the Jon’s heart and passion for life:
“May my life be my worship / My life be my song / May I praise you my Savior / All the day long / From the sun in its rising / To the night when it falls / May my life be my worship / My life be my song”.
