Rick Spurgin, born and raised in the Midwest, has taken his talents to both coasts. His love for music started at a young age. He began actively performing as a high school student.
While attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachu [+]Rick Spurgin, born and raised in the Midwest, has taken his talents to both coasts. His love for music started at a young age. He began actively performing as a high school student.
While attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts Rick entertained professionally around New England. He performed at local hot spots, on television shows and also worked as a studio musician.
His talents then took him across the United States to perform for the Super Bowl XXII reception in San Diego and then to Las Vegas where he entertained with his group at major hotels and casinos for eight years.
Rick performed in Canada as well, but has spent the past six years entertaining audiences in the Midwest. He has been performing with his group in clubs, riverboat casinos and has been the opening act for such bands as the Doobie Brothers and the Byrds.
With his band "Out of the Fire" he has been entertaining Midwest audiences with his honest , heartfelt songs and also high energy classic rock & roll. "Out of the Fire" is comprised of Rick Spurgin, vocals, guitars and keyboards, Bill White on bass and vocals, Jeff Reeks on drums and vocals and Glen Smith on lead guitar. This brotherhood of talents has been performing together for the last eight years.
His CD, also called "Out of the Fire", displays many of his songwriting and musical talents. The songs on this CD encompass various stages in the journey through life.
