As an opening act for artists such as Souls of Mischief and Masta Ace, he has dazzled crowds by manipulating syllables to ride beats while dropping dynamic lyrical content. With freestyling roots from 1991, RJ has since perfected his art, writing while performing with the hip hop band Bombin' The Area (a live song with the band is featured as the final song on the LP).
