In 1975 at the age of 22 Sonny was saved and joined a small

Black River in the middle of November Sonny began his walk
of faith. It was a journey that would take him through many

Black River in the middle of November Sonny began his walk
of faith. It was a journey that would take him through many
southern states as a bivocational pastor. These efforts
were difficult but not as diffficult, nor as rewarding as a
young inexperienced minister's efforts to over come the old
south's refusal to die. The things that happen along that
journey were as rocky and as blue as the music it created.
Things that happen during this time were the things that
songs are written about.
