Super Sport, explodes into action with their first release “Whoopass!”. Comprised almost entirely of veteran spotlight electro-rockers, the band has taken a dangerous turn into raw, rootsy', punky‘-tonk rock & roll. The record comes roaring out of the gate with the banjo fueled “It’s a Scam”, an in-your-face rant about common folks trying to keep up with pop culture. The slow swampy darkness of “Momma” is a beautifully poignant warning to young girls not to get knocked-up. The tight and polished growl of “The Bottom”, emphasizes the story of this front-lady’s nasty pursuit of success in a soulless music business. Tinged with bluegrass, southern-rock and bar room stompin‘, Super Sport is hot, wild and a pick-up truck full of fun.
Looking a little closer, this cranked-up four piece is fronted by Sissy (Michelle Walters), the former ball busting singer of Invisible Records recording artists Voodou and later Pigface and My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. Bassist/Accordionist Billie Miller, also X-Voodou, shared the battlefield alongside Walters for two albums and several North American tours. “Whoopass” was recorded and produced by the guitarist Sparky (Steven Seibold), an LA based studio guru, well known for lending a hand to Hate Dept., Berlin, Smash Mouth, Damage Manual and Pigface to name a few. Bennie Gibbs on drums is the final blow as the re-incarnate of The Who’s Keith Moon. Obviously unafraid to cross new boundaries and own a new frontier, Super Sport is honest, hard rocking American muscle.
