The three met at CBGBs one cold, wet night. After a night of booze, trashy music, and even trashier women, the three realized they shared a common passion for great rock and roll. With red eyes, killer hangovers, and bleeding ears, they promised each other that they would keep in touch and one day start a band. The band would be called The New York Vaults. Well, the boys did keep in touch. Race and Neville joined former "Raven" drummer, Rob "Wacko" Hunter and formed the band Johnny Frankenstein (OCWaH! Records). When Slade returned to Rochester, The New York Vaults were formed, with all the same passion for music that the three had shared on that cold night in NYC. After a CD single, a brief tour of the lower regions of Canada, and a 4 song EP, Race unfortunately went the way of many rock and roll legends. Neville and Slade found themselves alone with a backlog of songs never recorded or performed. At the same time, guitar-rock revivalists Bangers N Trash were dissolving for the usual reasons. Neville and Slade recruited Too Tall Paul for vocals and stage antics. Too Tall, longtime drummer for the Frantic Flattops, brought Von Nortney, who had shared songwriting duties with Paul in Bangers N Trash. The Luxurious Steve was added on drums and the New York Vaults were reborn and ready to rock. The music tells the rest of the story...
