In the storytelling spirit of Jimmy Buffet, Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, Willie Nelson, and Jerry Jeff Walker, he began writing about the people he met and his impressions of the cruising life. Travis's songs will rock you to ask for second cerveza and take you to a place you want to go where the margaritas flow. He will also soothe you soul like the ocean and make you laugh, then other times inspire you to chase your dream. A California native, Travis was previously a structural iron worker. Leaving the high rises for the high seas he traveled from Alaska to Costa Rica in continuous search of adventure. Along the way he met a cruiser who had built a steel sailboat. Inspired to do the same, Travis returned to California, where he met his wandering mermaid, photographer and writer, Emily. Together they completed their 44' steel cutter, Mystery Tramp and set sail for Baja and the Sea of Cortez.
Travis has performed at the wildly successful 2002 and 2003 Loreto Fest in Puerto Escondido (Loreto area), Baja; at Club Paradiso in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexcio; Paradise Found in La Paz, Baja; plus at the "Gypsies in the Palace" Jimmy Buffett pre-party at the Key Largo in Las Vegas; and at the Jimmy Buffet party in Mountain View, California; as well as numerous beaches.
