CD.The music - (all original)- has it's roots everywhere where nomads might be found.
Main discernible influences would be Eastern European and Gypsy traditions and Blues...
particularly towards Delta blues with a hint of Cajun...
the musicians: (according to David)
double bass is played by James Kirk...how he came to be living in chester for a while i will never know...one of my favourite bass players with the extraordinary ability to put the ground exactly where it is, despite my own slightly wayward interpretation...
at the drums, one Neil Dutton...all i can say is that i've come across few drummers who are equally at home with quiet and loud pieces and equally adept at 5/4, 7/8, 3/4, 4/4... you name it Neil can handle it...
he would deny this...but this would be his modesty!
on the violin, Chris Thompson...i've never known another who plays with such grace ...where his lines come from... is somewhere unavailable to most of us...
percussion on this occasion was played by the saxophonist Maurice Cowper-Beale....the artist formerly known as 'Mole'... this man can play most things a bit too well!
and the guitar of course was in the hands of Ian Rough...the wildest player i've ever had the good fortune to meet...
