The music- a well thought out blend of traditional "Celtic" songs from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales along with original material- is a mix of period ballads, sea shantys and up-tempo "drinking songs" that appeals to modern audiences and renaissance faire fans alike.
Wyldefyre began, appropriately enough, on St. Patrick's Day 2004 when two friends, attending a performance by a popular renaissance faire act, discovered they shared common musical backgrounds and tastes.
Since January 2005, Mark and Edie have performed at medieval, renaissance and pirate faires and festivals throughout Florida and have been selling CDs at their shows, on their website and through online outlets including here on CD Baby. Their music can be heard on internet radio stations such as Renradio (www.renradio.com) and the Renaissance Faire Podcast. Their appearances have included: the Florida Renaissance Festival, Sarasota Medieval Faire, Pirates of the Intracoastal Festival, Camelot Days, Florida Pirate Festival and the Fort Myers Medieval Faire.
